A KUREHA PVDF overseas plant project put into production

June 7, 2012, the groundbreaking ceremony of  KUREHA (Changshu) Fluorine  Materials Co., Ltd. Was held in Changshu Advanced Materials Industrial Park, marking the second polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resin production base in the world of KUREHA corporation officially launched. An annual output of 5,000 tons PVDF production equipment will be completed in June 2013, put into operation in January 2014, at the appointed time, the annual sales income will be 1 billion yuan.

The registered capital of KUREHA (Changshu) Fluorine Materials Co., Ltd. Is 60 million US dollars, the production base covers an area of 135 acres. The first phase of the project includes the main factory building, production facilities and environmental protection projects, with a total investment of 90 million US dollars.

On the ceremony, the vice president of KUREHA Corporation, Mr. Kobayashi, and the president of KUREHA Changshu, Mr. Zhang Yao, said that they are confident in the development of this project in Changshu, and will continue to promote technological innovation in the future. Achieve the harmonious development with surrounding community and environment, and create KUREHA (Changshu) to be a world first class enterprise.

KUREHA Corporation was founded in 1944, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1949, with its core business of high-functional materials, pharmaceuticals and pesticides and high-barrier packaging materials. The company entered the PVDF production in the 1970s, is one of the few manufacturers in the world, the products are mainly used for adhesive of lithium battery cathode and anode, currently accounts for 50% of the global market share.
